Child Development

ALPI Child Development Services’ focus is on activities that enhance the process of providing developmentally appropriate early education activities within the School Readiness Subsidized Child Care Programs.

These activities include Client Eligibility Determination, Management Information Systems, Childcare Provider Training, Technical Assistance, Monitoring, Staff Development, Recruitment, Contract Management and Certificate/Voucher Management.

ALPI Child Development Services also supplements family childcare recruitment and outreach services to family childcare providers.  The ALPI Resource & Referral Program has been playing a major role in the development and improvement of quality childcare.  Services offered under this initiative program include technical assistance, financial assistance, resource van visits, Toy Lending Library, Resource Lending Library and support for childcare providers.

ALPI’s Child Development Services include case management services to those families receiving childcare in the subsidized childcare program. Case management plans are developed with families to secure needed services and handle family situations as identified through the Family Needs Assessment Process. Special emphasis is given to families referred from the Children and Family Child Protection unit. The “Safety Net” case management process documents these families and coordinates activities.
