NHSA 2019 Winter Leadership Institute

January 28, 2019 - January 31, 2019

A Head Start on the New Congress

A new Congress will head to Washington in January 2019, bringing new opportunities, new priorities, and new leadership. Join Head Start leaders in Washington, D.C. at the start of this new Congress to discuss what this environment means for Head Start and help forge a new path forward.

Change is coming, are you?

The 116th Congress is set to have a historic number of new members, many of whom might not be familiar with the Head Start Advantage. Together we will educate new champions and encourage existing ones from both sides of the aisle and from every state. We need you in Washington where your voices and your stories will make Head Starts impact felt throughout the halls of Congress.

Are you up to the task? Take action to make the 116th Congress one that understands, values, and empowers the important role Head Start has for children and families.

Whats special about the Leadership Institute?

The Winter Leadership Institute is essential not only because it offers informative sessions and invaluable networking events, but because it provides the opportunity to meet with members of Congress and make a strong first impression.

Learn and Grow
Leadership Institutes offer deep-dive insights into the policies that affect Head Start nationally, and how these can be implemented locally. Whats the latest and what can we expect in the months ahead?

Advocate and Educate
NHSAs Government Affairs team will make sure that you have all the resources necessary to schedule Hill meetings with your members of Congress during the Institute. These meetings are critical to maintaining a strong relationship with Congress and making sure that Head Starts impact is understood. Together, we can make sure that this dialogue leads to results.

Network and Share
By convening leaders from across the country, our Leadership Institutes help drive the Head Start community forward. Meet with your colleagues from across the country, share in conversations about niche Head Start happenings, and make connections that last.

All NHSA Professional Development training is designed to support the understanding and implementation of the Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Core Values, IACET standards, and important trends in the field of early care and education.
